It is not very clear when the drug wars began in America. Some think it was on July 18, 1971, when Nixon declared the drug trafficker’s public enemy number one. Other historians think it was in 1973 when the DEA, the Anti-Drug Agency, was created. But most scholars think it was on December 24, 1989, when Noriega was captured. Personally, the event that truly marked the beginning of the wars was, in my humble opinion, at the beginning of 2026, with the kidnapping of Maduro, accused of drug trafficking.
